Laminate flooring 'can be fitted into corners'

Homeowners who are considering installing laminate flooring have been given advice as to how to go about fitted the planks in the corners of a room.

Kristen Hart said in a post for eHow that the best way to install laminate flooring in the corner of a room was to begin by making a paper template.

To do this, a piece of paper should be taped to the floor and then folded along the edge of the wall.

"Fold the paper up on itself and tape the loose edge down. Do this around the corner and down the length of the laminate flooring plank," advised Ms Hart.

Homeowners should then trace the outline of the template onto the laminate flooring plank, before cutting it with a circular saw, she added.

Ms Hart said following her instructions would leave a "smooth fit".

This comes after modernisation work at the Peace Village in Illinois included the installation of laminate flooring.

Oak trim and granite-effect countertops were also added to the retirement homes, reports the Regional News.
