Laminate flooring 'better way to go than carpet'
Laminate flooring has been promoted as superior to carpet in a number of important ways by a new installation guide.
A Fox news guide to installing the material praises the variety of styles available for laminate flooring and urges homeowners to "ditch that old carpet".
"If you want cleaner air, laminate flooring is a better way to go than carpet because you can sweep up all the dust and nastiness instead of letting it accumulate," said the guide.
Price is another benefit of laminate flooring, which the guide claims tends to be much less expensive than its hardwood equivalents.
Similarly, the guide promoted laminate flooring as ideal for DIY enthusiasts due to the fact that no special tools, adhesives or experience are required to fit it properly.
The guide's sentiments were echoed by home improvement expert Al Heavens. In a recent article for the Philadelphia Inquirer, he claimed that wood flooring is a great option for homeowners who seek durability.
