Laminate flooring 'a good DIY project'
Homeowners looking to carry out home improvement works may wish to consider installing laminate flooring themselves, it has been stated.
Mike Albrecht, division director for Home Depot's installation business, said that while many other DIY jobs could carry hidden dangers and are often best left to the professionals, installing laminate flooring is something simple.
Speaking to MarketWatch, he explained that the scale of the project would determine whether or not a homeowner would be able to carry out the work themselves.
For instance, laying the laminate flooring in a small room should be simple enough for a person to manage on their own or with a friend helping them.
However, a bigger project such as installing new flooring throughout a large open-plan area may be too much to take on.
This comes after Kristen Hart, in an article for eHow, advised homeowners to use a paper template to help them to fit laminate flooring into the corners of a room.
