Home offices 'need inspiring colour scheme'

Homeworkers could complement the laminate flooring in their office by picking an inspiring colour scheme.

Neil Wertheimer, editor in chief of Fresh Home magazine, last week suggested that people who work at home make sure their workspace is fitted with laminate flooring.

This, he said, would be an ideal material because it is attractive, highly durable and very easy to install, as well as inexpensive.

However, Mr Wertheimer has also advised homeowners to consider the importance of the colour scheme in their workspace as well, as it needs to be inspiring.

He suggested that cool colours such as blue or light green could help to create a soothing and contemplative atmosphere.

Mr Wertheimer added that if people want their colour scheme to motivate and energise them, they should opt for warmer colours such as orange and yellow.

"You have complete freedom to create a space that is as motivating, comfortable and style-rich as you wish," he commented.
