Consumers encouraged to upgrade flooring
Fitting new laminate flooring in your bathroom could boost the asking price of your house, an analyst has stated.
According to Amy Fontinelle of Wdam.com, carrying out home improvements could be a good way of increasing the value of a property.
She has therefore suggested measures such as installing new flooring in the bathroom.
"Opting for a neutral coloured tile will add the most value," she commented.
Ms Fontinelle added that new flooring should be complemented with newer and more customised bathroom fixtures.
This, she stated, would be preferable to retaining generic, cheap or outdated items.
Ms Fontinelle also advised that if people are planning to refurbish their homes, they could take the opportunity to make it more energy efficient.
Only this week, energy and climate change secretary Ed Miliband urged consumers to reduce their emissions, as one quarter of the UK's carbon output comes from homes.
"Householders have to be a part of the solution to climate change," Mr Miliband stated.
