Britons 'want colour in their homes'

Consumers looking to install new laminate flooring for their home might be keen to go for a colourful option to keep up with the latest fashions.

Adrienne Chinn, director of Adrienne Chinn Design Company, believes bright colours are becoming fashionable once again among people in the UK.

This, she said, is because homeowners are becoming more and more creative when it comes to designing the interior of their house.

"I definitely think that the trends now are going with a bit more fun, more colours and more courage in interior design," she commented.

Ms Chinn stated that consumers are gradually moving away from the "hotel look" which involves the use of colours such as beige.

This, she added, is a "really nice" development and one that allows people to inject far more of their own personality into their home.

The observations come after House Beautiful Magazine noted that many homeowners are leaning towards design styles that were popular during the 1950s.
