Vinyl Planks - How long do they last?

Vinyl flooring is largely heralded in the modern age as one of the best floor covering available on the market; possessing a huge amount of value for money and durability, vinyl has also benefited in recent times from advances in technology.

These advances have allowed manufacturers of vinyl flooring to mimic the appearance and texture of other materials to the smallest nuance and to the highest possible standard.

Offering a slightly different form that of the traditionally laid sheet vinyl, vinyl planks have become extremely popular because of the ease with which they can be installed.

However, before making the investment, many will wonder how long these vinyl planks actually last?

Well this really depends on the thickness of the planks themselves and the thickness of the wear layer.

Many of the thicker varieties will have long warranty periods - some covering a period as long as 25 years.

Thinner varieties tend to last in the home for anywhere between five to ten years. Though this can obviously vary depending on the quality of flooring that you purchase - with the more expensive varieties lasting for far longer.
