Vinyl flooring gains popularity

According to a leading flooring company, vinyl flooring is increasing in popularity amongst UK consumers.

The flooring was originally developed as an alternative to carpet to be fitted in kitchens, bathrooms, child playrooms, and hallways.

The material is tough, resilient and water resistant, making it perfect for homes as well as public buildings including schools, hospitals, hotels and office buildings.

There are many colours and patterns available to purchase. It is easy to clean and in most vinyl floors there are no visible seams for debris and dirt to lodge itself into. Another benefit is that the flooring is hypoallergenic. This means the vinyl flooring does not trap dust or other allergens that are often found when a carpet is fitted.

Maintenance is easy as brooms and a vacuum are all you need to keep the floor looking its best. The flooring does tear if sharp edged objects are moved across it, but this can be avoided if large objects are fitted with rollers or fitted with padding before being moved.
