Two more tips for cleaning natural stone floors

Stone has become a popular flooring option in homes up and down the United Kingdom - especially in kitchens and bathrooms. Like many other floor coverings, stone is a material that requires a specific type of care to ensure that it remains looking fantastic.

Although cleaning stone is relatively easy, there are a few extra tips that, if employed, can make the cleaning process much easier; here are just two of those aforementioned tips:

Tip 1 - Avoid cleaning products: One of stone's main benefits is that it doesn't require a huge amount of commercial products to keep it clean; in many cases a damp sponge or a mop will do the trick.

The acidic chemicals that feature in these abrasive cleaning products can cause a significant amount of damage to the flooring - making it best to avoid the use of cleaning products altogether.

Tip 2 - Diluted bleach is good for tougher stains: Even the most rigorous cleaning action won't remove tough stains; therefore a little help may be needed. Bleach is the ideal substance for removing those tougher stains, however you need to prepare a solution beforehand.

Simply combine a mild variety of bleach with some warm water in a spray bottle. Take this newly formed substance and apply to any affected areas; leave for a couple a minutes before wiping away with a dishcloth.
