Three unconventional floor coverings

It is extremely common to step into a building floored with laminate or vinyl flooring. However, lifestyle blog Feng Swish have produced a guide of the most unique and interesting alternative floor coverings currently out there.

We've chosen just three of the 10 featured on Feng Swish's list and summarised them below:

Fruit – One of the most unconventional choices for a floor covering out there, this floor is actually manufactured from peach pits, according to Feng Swish. The edges of these peach pits are sanded down to give the surface a much smoother and more desirable texture – at the same bringing out the fantastically unique colour.

Leather – When thought of in the home, leather is a material usually associated with sofas or chairs. Leather tiles, however have become a niche item to add a touch of luxury to the home. Finishes such as faux gator and saddle leather will provide a finish oozing eccentricity.

Tye Dye – Typically thought of as a fashion trend associated with 1960's psychedelia, the Tye Dye finish has now been adapted for use in tiles. Activated when warm, the tiles will change in colour, grabbing the attention with a warm, psychedelic glow.
