Things to consider - choosing a laminate floor for your bathroom

When choosing flooring for the bathroom, laminate isn't usually top of the list. Despite offering a number of fantastic designs and being easy to clean, laminate flooring doesn't react well with water - unless it features specially designed additional waterproof layers.

If, however, you decide laminate flooring is for your bathroom, there are a number of things you should consider when making your choice:

What look are you going for? - Are you looking to achieve the appearance of stone? A combination of tones? With laminate flooring it is possible to achieve any number of styles in a room. The size of your bathroom will also have a big impact on the type of flooring you choose - be it a straight edge look or an angular design.

Ensure your choices are waterproof - The selected laminate flooring choices have to be waterproof or moisture resistant - if they're not, there is a good chance that you'll be replacing the flooring again a couple of months later.

Look into flooring manufacturer's recommendations; this will give you a good idea of what you should be looking to buy.

Take advantage of samples - Bring them home; see how they look firsthand in your bathroom. This will give you the best indication of whether the floor suits your room.
