Sealing your rubber flooring

Much like vinyl flooring, rubber flooring is a covering that offers a huge amount of practicality, as well as durability. Whilst rubber flooring is extremely resilient, it, like many other floor covering options, needs to be sealed.

With this in mind, we've produced a short, simple guide on how you can go about applying a sealant to a rubber floor:

Step 1 - Firstly you should choose a sealant that is specifically designed for use on rubber. Rubber sealants are manufactured to contain chemicals that are extremely resistant against the cold, as well as much higher temperatures.

Step 2 - Once you have a suitable rubber sealant, you should set about cleaning the floor. Take a mop and bucket. Fill the bucket with fresh water and combine with either washing up liquid or diluted vinegar. Then set about cleaning.

Step 3 - Ensure that the floor is dry before adding the sealant; mix in a paint tray and apply to the floor with a paint roller. Employ an action which sees the sealant applied from corner to corner. Once complete, leave to dry.
