Ridding your natural stone floor of dirt

Natural stone is a floor covering that requires a significant amount of care; however, with this care you can ensure that it is able to project its stunning natural beauty into home.

Here a short simple guide, displaying how you can go about keeping your natural stone flooring clean, but in the correct manner:

Step 1 - Dust: Rather than using a vacuum cleaner - which could potentially cause irreparable scratches - simply rid the surface of dust with a dustpan and brush.

Step 2 - Mop: Once clear of dust, dirt and debris, you can then set about mopping. To create a cleaning solution, combine washing-up liquid - preferably one which as a neutral pH balance - and warm water in a bucket.

Take your mop, dip it in the bucket, rinse and then apply - ensuring that you employ a thorough action to rid the floor of any unwanted marks.

Step 3 - Rinse: Take another clean bucket and fill with fresh warm water. Take a clean sponge and set about removing any traces of the cleaning solution you used to mop the floor with. Having done this, simply allow the floor to dry.
