Removing bleach spots from laminate flooring

Bleach spilled on laminate flooring can be bad news. The yellow dye used in a number of bleaches will cause an unsightly stain - one that is extremely difficult to remove.

However, there is a method that you can employ to rid the surface of bleach spots, which we've taken and put into a short, simple guide:

Step 1 - Take some hydrogen peroxide; remember when handling to protect your skin by wearing rubber gloves. Apply the substance to a small cotton ball and rub on to the area of laminate flooring that is stained.

For the more severe stains you may need to leave the cotton ball on the stain for a couple of minutes before rubbing to remove the stain.

Step 2 - Prepare a bowl of fresh water and fully immerse a dishcloth in it; then using the dishcloth remove the hydrogen peroxide and leave to dry.

Step 3 - Should the stain still remains repeat step 1 before creating a paste. To create this paste take some RIT dye remover and combine with a tiny amount of water in a clean bowl. Mix around to form the paste.

Apply the newly created paste to the stain with a toothbrush and then leave for a couple of minutes.

Step 4 - Repeat step 2 to remove the RIT dye remover and hydrogen peroxide.
