Protect your wood flooring
Wood flooring really does look fantastic, but this aesthetical beauty does come at a slight cost – as it is susceptible to scratches and scuff marks.
Therefore to ensure your wood flooring continually looks at it's best, a number of ground rules can be implemented; here are just three:
- It might not be the most practical rule, but don't allow your cats or dogs to walk across your flooring; you'll be surprised at how much damage their claws can cause to the surface.
- Attach pads to bottom of furniture and table legs; these are available in materials such as felt and rubber and can prevent indentations as well.
- Again, maybe not practical, or necessarily the easiest to implement, but try not to wear shoes on wood flooring – especially high heels. The grit and debris that can be brought in on the underside of footwear can cause unsightly scratches.
