Look after your laminate floor
Laminate flooring can be great for family homes, providing great, hard-wearing resistance to damage, spills and wear and tear.
But to keep your laminate floor looking top-notch, and to help make it last as long as possible, you will still need to take care of it.
There are several ways to make sure your laminate floor is looked after:
- Clear up spills and stains straight away - it's not always possible to mop up a spill straight away, but the sooner you do, the less likely it is that your floor will stain. Keep an eye out for drips and drops in the kitchen, or footprints in a doorway, to stay on top of your floor. If you do end up with a stain, make sure you use a proper stain remover to avoid further damage to your laminate floor.
- Mats for life - strategically placing mats in high-traffic areas will help protect your laminate floor. A mat by the front door can help soak up muck and trap dust, and a mat in the bathroom will help preserve your flooring.
- Clean regularly - whilst vacuuming can help clear dust, it's best to use a dry mop or cleaning cloth to get the job done properly. Spraying a cleaner directly onto the floor can get great results - but make sure your products are safe to use on laminate.
