Laminate or engineered wood flooring? How to decide

Where is the floor going to be laid?

If the floor is in the hallway, then laminate flooring is the best bet, because it is the most resistant to damage.  If the floor is in the living room, or any other room that will be shown off, then engineered is the best bet because it looks more like a real wood floor.

Do you have young children?

Again, laminate flooring is the best option for many people with young children because it is so durable.

Consider under-floor heating or dampness

Engineered flooring is capable of expansion and contraction when it is necessary, so if there is underfloor heating in the room in question, or likely to be an issue with damp, this will be the better option.
