Installing vinyl flooring tiles

Well-known for their durability, vinyl flooring tiles have become an extremely popular flooring option in the home. They also have the benefit of being relatively easy to install too.

So with this in mind, we've produced a short guide on how you can go about installing vinyl flooring tiles in your home:

Step 1 - Before fitting the tiles you have to ensure that you're happy with the pattern. Lay the tiles out, remembering that the pattern should be most visible in the centre of the room.

Step 2 - Once you have a pattern that you're satisfied with, you can start the installation process. Working in rows - whilst at the same time leaving the edges until last - apply an adhesive to the back of each tile and press down to position them firmly in place.

Having installed a number of rows, take a roller and roll across to bond the tiles to the floor.

Step 3 - The edge of the floor may require tiles that are cut to specific size. To do this cut with a sharp knife. Irregular shapes can be cut out using tin snips. Install these tiles using the same method employed before.

Step 4 - Clear away any dirt or debris. Whilst you'll be able to walk on the floor, you won't be able to wash it for a least two or three days.
