How to clean dark laminate flooring

Rich in the spectacular tones typically found in woods such as mahogany and walnut, it is no surprise that dark laminate flooring is as popular as it is.

Although darker floors bring a lot of character to the home, they do also display marks and stains more prominently. For this reason alone, it is important to ensure you keep any dark laminate clean.

There is a specific, yet simple, way to clean dark laminate flooring; here's how you can do so:

Step 1 - Remove dust from the floor's surface; this can be done with either a dust mop or a micro-fiber cloth or pad.

Step 2 - Create a cleaning solution by mixing two parts vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle. Carefully apply the solution the floor in 4x4 foot sections. The white vinegar will cut through any build up of dirt on the floor's surface.

Subsequently take a mop and wipe away. Continue this process across the whole floor.

Step 3 - Use soft clean rags to dry the floor; if you leave water standing on the floor it will dry and leave unsightly white marks on the surface - marks that will stand out against the dark tones of the floor's surface.
