Flooring sales unaffected by credit crunch

According to a leading flooring manufacturer, despite the economic crisis, 2010 proved to be one of the best years for producers of laminate flooring in Europe.

The recession has seen many businesses struggle, especially in high streets across the UK. However, producers of laminate flooring across Europe reportedly had their second best year on record.

A reason for the success of laminate flooring is thought to be due to the fact that laminate flooring is now better than ever before. It is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between solid wood flooring and its laminate equivalent.

Laminate flooring allows you to give your home a contemporary finish that can be cleaned easily at a fraction of the cost of solid wood flooring.

Wooden floors are now a popular theme in many dining rooms. Helen Green, an author of a design blog, said: "If the dining room is meant to be soft and traditional, darker colours will often best suit this, with materials both heavy [and] thin, that provide natural warmth."
