There are some interesting world record attempts covered by many people but the latest is directly related to the flooring industry.
A new world record has been set in Holland for the quickest time Parquet floor is laid at the Dutch Parquet Championships according to a leading online flooring specialist.
The floor was installed in just under three and a half minutes with the nation's public glued to the television to watch the process live on air.
There were several fitters involved in the challenge which was carefully timed to ensure that the record was broken, with the actual time of fitting coming in at three minutes and 28.8 seconds.
Parquet flooring offers a unique twist on the usual solid wood flooring options with many choosing it for their attractive designs and colours.
There were 20 metres of flooring installed in front of a crowd of supporters, with the event providing plenty of opportunity to explore the different Parquet flooring options.
