Extending the life span of your beech laminate flooring
Many people will choose beech laminate flooring over a real beech wood floor, simply because of strength.
As beech is a typically soft timber, a layer of laminate will provide the surface with the protection it needs against general wear and tear.
These are three key steps that could help to extend the life of your beech laminate flooring:
- Avoid wet mops: Beech laminate floor is very sensitive to moisture; therefore using too much water will cause the colour to change and be detrimental to the overall finish.
- Add guards to your furniture's feet: Heavy-weight furniture can leave unsightly gouges and indentation marks; simply adding some soft rubber pads to the feet of tables, chairs and the like will prevent this from happening.
- Use silicon fillers: Silicon fillers can be a great help in getting rid of scratches that appear over time. It is important to note however this solution is only suitable on small damaged areas – for larger areas the advice of a professional would probably be more beneficial.
