In recent times, cork flooring has become an extremely popular option within the home.
Encapsulating a huge amount of natural beauty within its stunningly unique appearance, cork flooring – like all floor coverings – will occasionally need a bit of maintenance.
With this in mind, we've created an easy to follow three-step guide on how you can go about cleaning natural cork flooring:
Step 1 – Firstly, you need to ensure that your flooring is clear of any dirt, debris or dust; this can be done with a broom or a vacuum cleaner – however, if you use the latter, ensure that there are no bristles present to prevent scratching to the surface.
Step 2 – This next step requires a significant amount of care. You have to ensure that you have a cork floor cleaner that is absolutely right for your floor – the last thing you want is to damage the surface beyond repair.
The floor cleaning product you use should not contain any ammonia or bleach; it should also be free of abrasive particles, whilst also possessing a balanced pH level.
Step 3 – Now you have your cork floor cleaner you can set about cleaning the floor. Take a mop and wring out thoroughly and apply the cleaner to the floor.
