Cork flooring – A dog's second best friend?

When thinking about installing a new floor in the home, unlike others, pet owners will need to take extra considerations into account. Although a dog might be commonly dubbed as “a man's best friend”, it is all too common for their claws to cause significant damage to wood and laminate flooring types.

Cork, however, offers no such problems. While regular clipping of the claws will significantly reduce the amount scratches caused, cork is a material that can renew itself – unlike laminate and wooden flooring.

A soft material, cork will provide a dog with a considerable amount of comfort, especially to their paws and joints. The naturally good properties that the material also possesses - such as the ability to resist mold and microbes - will ensure that dogs remains healthy.

The insect repellent qualities that it also possesses will provide a fantastic advantage compared to carpets when a dog suffers from fleas – ultimately offering a more hygienic option.
