According to research homeowners are being warned to take care when choosing new flooring because even subtle light changes can change the appearance of different flooring according to a leading flooring manufacturer.
One major problem is when consumers are shopping in a flooring showroom, whether it be for laminate flooring, solid wood flooring or event carpet, that when they are displayed in the light in the showroom it could look completely different one installed in the home.
Now most flooring sales people should be advising customers to take samples home with them to try out different shades and styles that will reflect the finished product according to each lighting setting in the home.
Research has stated that many homeowners choose a particular flooring option in-store only to find once they have fitted it in their own homes to find that it looks a completely different colour.
Jane Cardillo, who has fallen victim to this issue, said: "It was a brown blight on our black-and-white colour scheme."
