Cleaning a laminate floor in four simple steps

One of laminate flooring's most beneficial properties is that it's easy to keep tidy; to some regularly going over the floor with the vacuum may be enough.

However these four steps will ensure that your laminate flooring is kept comprehensively gleaning:

Step 1 - Clear the floor: The first step to take when cleaning a laminate floor is to sweep away any lingering dust or dirt using a broom or dustpan and brush.

Step 2 - Mix up a cleaning agent: Some may be tempted to go out and buy the strongest cleaner that can be found in their local supermarket – a simple mixture of ½ a cup of vinegar and a mop bucket full of water will do the job. As well as being cost-effective to make, it won't leave the streak marks that many of the stronger cleaning fluids do.

Step 3 - Mop the floor: A mop with a microfibers is more beneficial as it doesn't cover the floor with water, all at once. The floor should be mopped just one section at a time, in a direction that follows the pattern of the floor.

Step 4 - Leave the floor to dry: Firstly dry the floor with a soft towel as this will remove any remaining surface water and give the floor a shine. Opening doors and windows will allow the laminate flooring to finish drying on its own and finish the cleaning process.
