Carpet tile market increased by 23 per cent

Following the recent financial downfall of many industries during the recession, the flooring industry could have been hit the hardest, but figures released for the carpet tile market contradict what many businesses have been facing.

According to BMW Associates, who conducted the market analysis, the carpet tiling market has grown 23 per cent over the past five years, giving hope to many flooring manufacturers that things are on the up.

Bill McWhirter, of BMW Associates, told CFJ that: "No longer are carpet tiles restricted to the core corporate and commercial office segment. They are now competing with broadloom and other contract floor finishes in their market strongholds of in-store, hospitality, leisure, education, healthcare, institutional and transport."

In fact the company predicts that in 2011 alone, more than 180 million sq meters of tiles will be fitting throughout the UK.

With the massive range of styles and colours available the consumer is not limited to plain colours and dull designs, why not check out your local flooring specialist to see what they have on offer.
