Best conservatory floors not a clear choice

If you're looking to add an extension to your home, conservatories are often a popular choice.

But these rooms are unlike anywhere else in your home - walled with glass and often linked directly to the garden.

Traditional carpets are not ideal for conservatories, but there are several flooring choices you can make, depending on how you plan to use your conservatory.

For those with children, it's worth ensuring your floor is going to be durable, easy to clean and resistant to wear, tear and stains, so it may be worth looking at different styles of laminate flooring. Laminate floors can also provide a range of colours and patterns - and many look like real wood floors now, so make sure you check all the choices available.

If you're planning to make the conservatory part of your kitchen, or a walk-through from your garden, it's worth considering that the floor may get wet regularly. If so, cork flooring could be a great solution.

Engineered hardwood floors can also add a nice natural touch - and won't be badly affected by fluctuations in moisture and temperature like traditional hardwood.
