According to a leading flooring supplier, celebrities such as Nicholas Cage, Matthew McConaughey and Kim Kardashian are all fans of hardwood flooring. All of these stars have recently sold or purchased property, all of which had hardwood flooring fitted throughout.
Recent research showed that 90 per cent of estate agents believe that homes with oak flooring will sell quicker, and could possibly secure a higher asking price, compared to homes with carpeted floors.
A spokesperson for a floor care products company, said: "In our recent survey of 1,000 homeowners, 79 per cent of respondents had hardwood floors". The flooring is gaining popularity because hardwood floor needs minimal care to maintain its elegant look. Sweeping and the occasional bit of hovering is all it takes to keep the flooring looking its best.
Hardwood flooring is also extremely hardwearing, and with the right care and maintenance it can last for tens of years. There are a number of different styles and shades available to suit both traditional and contemporary interior designs.
