Wood floors 'fairly easy to clean'
A new guide for homeowners with pets has promoted wood flooring as a great option for easy maintenance.
In a Helium article, columnist Denise Henderson warned pet owners of the dangers of carpet, claiming that piles of pet hair can often go unnoticed.
She said that having a basic knowledge of how to maintain wood flooring is much easier than having to constantly clean carpets.
"Wooden flooring is fairly easy to clean. Sweep or vacuum it over before you wash it," she said. "A dirty mop head will smear the germs and move the dirt around."
She went on to highlight the importance of regular maintenance, claiming pets will often leave dirty paw prints and other signs of wear all over the floors of a property.
A recent Savannah Morning News guide contained cleaning tips from expert Ashley Hubbard who suggested that wood floors need very little effort to maintain.
