Wood flooring is key feature of newly-renovated Chicago home
Wood flooring has been highlighted as a key feature of a newly-renovated property in Chicago.
Writing for Shelter Pop, columnist Laura Fenton spoke to interior design expert Rebekah Zaveloff, who had recently undertaken the task of improving the kitchen of a client.
Before Ms Zaveloff's work, the area was described as being in a "sorry state", lacking the period oak wood flooring present in the rest of the home.
In order to bring the kitchen's 1970s-era decor up to date, she added industrial light fixtures and some vintage detailing to highlight the property's age.
Similarly, the pantry area had its wall removed and its entrance reoriented so that the kitchen was made slightly bigger.
Ms Zaveloff made a range of other improvements and claimed a little effort is all it takes to successfully renovate a room.
Her comments follow a recent Yourhome.ca article, which stated that wood flooring is the perfect material for open rooms.
