Wood flooring 'increasingly used downstairs'
Wood flooring's growing popularity has been highlighted by one US retailer.
Speaking to My Central Jersey, Lewis Voorhees of L&L Carpet revealed how homeowners are increasingly opting to use the material.
"We are seeing more and more people put hardwood on the bottom floor," he said. "I think hardwood is here to stay. It's a classy look, it's a natural look.''
Mr Voorhees added that changing the flooring is one of the best methods for homeowners to give a "complete room face lift".
He went on to note that laminate flooring can often be a good option for those seeking a durable material as it tends to be tougher than regular wood flooring.
Laminate flooring was also put forward as a great choice for homeowners in an About My Area guide to kitchen renovations.
It claimed that the material is preferable to "simple lino" and also noted that whether a renovator decides to opt for wood or laminate floors is largely down to personal preference.
