Wood flooring 'enhances' island property
Wood flooring has been credited with enhancing a property located on the Isle of Wight.
The Isle of Wight County Press recently reported on the home at six Coastguard Cottages, highlighting the picturesque views available from the house, which show "a wide stretch of water" favoured by liners and yachts.
It noted that the property contains many of its original features, "including fireplaces, sash windows and wooden flooring that enhance the two-bedroom accommodation".
In addition, the home also boasts a "secret" loft room - full of "character" - which displays some fine works by a local carpenter.
The garden of the property opens on to a nearby green, enabling quick access to the seafront, as well as a well-trodden hiking path to the Old Castle.
In a recent Scotsman article, columnist Richard Bath hailed wood flooring as one of the materials which invoked a "modern" feel in a new Edinburgh restaurant.
