Women 'taking more responsibility for DIY'
Women in the UK are becoming more confident about taking on home improvement projects, a DIY expert has stated.
Francesca Gamble explained that over the last few years, women have become far more dominant in the sector.
She said: "Women will give it a go just as much as a man would at any job that is needed to be done."
Ms Gamble added that more and more women are learning as many new skills as possible, with DIY among these, and taking more responsibility for jobs that need doing around the home.
She said it is not just women who live on their own who are now carrying out home improvements in their properties, as it also applies to those who share a property with a partner.
Earlier this month, Colleen Pyra, development and volunteer coordinator for Habitat for Humanity Desert Foothills, told ABC15.com that women who take on DIY projects should invest in quality goggles and gloves.
