Women 'on the hunt for men with DIY skills'

Single men could find that brushing up on their DIY skills could make them more attractive to women.

A poll by Bosch found that more than a third of women respondents would like their partners to be handy with a power tool and be able to put up shelves.

Being a good car mechanic was also a popular trait, with 34 per cent of women surveyed stating that this is attractive in a man.

Chris Tidy, a DIY expert from Bosch, stated that practical skills are essential for a man to woo a woman.

He said: "While all women love to be romanced, it seems your DIY skills are the thing they are really looking out for."

However, more than two fifths of the men polled by Bosch said they are concerned about DIY projects going wrong.

Last week, Anna-Marie DeSouza, deputy editor at Build It magazine, stated that the impending World Cup could lead to a rush to complete DIY jobs around the home.
