Wine cellar 'an essential home improvement for expensive house'

Householders who are looking to make their house stand out from the crowd have been advised to consider adding a wine cellar to their residence.

According to property developer Blaze Stojanovski from Blaze and Co, a wine cellar is "essential" for expensive homes, adding that the company always includes one with the London townhouses it works on.

"European, Russian and American buyers have always liked them," he told the Daily Telegraph. "They are perfect for dark and otherwise unusable corners."

Lucy Hargreaves from Spiral Cellars explained that adding a wine cellar is becoming more and more popular, with her company booked up for the next five months.

She stated that this is due to many people being unable to afford to move house, so they are instead spending money on improving their current home.

Her company installs wine cellars from £9,200, or £12,050 if a homeowner requires the firm to dig the excavation hole as well.
