Wallpaper 'still in fashion for home improvers'

Wallpaper is continuing to be a popular choice for DIYers as it remains a fashionable option for householders who are carrying out home improvements.

This is the view of Jan Williams, assistant at Wallpaperdirect, who stated that metallic wallpapers are an on-trend choice for a style-conscious property owner.

She said wallpaper design has "definitely" evolved over the last few years, citing the example of Sanderson, which took an older dandelion style and gave it a modern twist with fresh colours.

Ms Williams added that homeowners can select any colour for their new wallpaper they like, such is the amount of choice on offer.

"Limes are quite popular, shocking pinks; there are a lot of shocking pinks around," she said.

HousetoHome recently stated that wallpaper remains a hot choice for DIYers, adding that floral patterns are set to be some of the more popular designs available on the high street, along with vibrant colours and retro prints.
