US lottery winners plan home improvements

A couple from the US who have won the lottery are planning to use the money to pay for home improvements.

Jodi and Lee Taylor of Buhl won a $50,000 (£35,000) prize after Jodi accidentally entered the wrong lottery.

She played the Powerplay option on the Powerball draw, which meant when she matched four numbers and the Powerball, her winnings increased five-fold.

The Taylors said they had the winning ticket without realising for around a month before they checked it and noticed they had won.

"I kept it in my truck for about a month before Jodi convinced me to get it checked," Lee said.

They stated that they are planning to spend their winnings on home improvements.

The Taylors are the latest US lottery winners to state their home improvement plans.

Last month, Veronica Scales won $100,000 (£65,000) playing the Carolina 5 Cash game and said she will spend her prize on home improvements, reports the News-Record.
