Underfloor heating fashionable for 2010
Swapping radiators for underfloor heating is likely to be one of the big interior design trends of 2010.
Radiators may be an important part of central heating systems, but many people do not like the way they look and feel they spoil the aesthetics of a room.
Underfloor heating is one of the alternatives now available to homeowners and, according to the Sunday Times, is one that will be particularly popular in the coming months.
Detailing the latest fashions for living rooms, it said: "Underfloor heating is a must - radiators are rapidly going the way of the cheque."
The newspaper added that it can work particularly well with wood flooring and tipped oak to replace dark walnut as this year's big flooring trend.
Underfloor heating systems may be a green choice, as well as a stylish one.
The Energy Saving Trust has said people looking to cut their carbon emissions and fuel bills by using a ground source heat pump will get better results with underfloor heating than from radiators.
