Underfloor heating 'can save energy and keep a room warm'

Underfloor heating has been praised for its ability to cut energy bills while keeping a room warm.

Writer Sanjana Sharma said that installing underfloor heating could potentially reduce energy usage by up to 20 per cent due to its use of low water temperature.

It was added that property owners considering installing such a system could benefit from several of the other advantages it offers, including controllable systems.

"You can use a thermostat control for each room that will give you complete flexibility for your home and you can even set a timer for your rooms," householders were told.

Other pluses of underfloor heating were said to include its ability to save space that would be taken up by radiators, as well as its ease of use.

Earlier this month, the Sunday Times said that underfloor heating is set to become very fashionable this year.

The newspaper stated that "radiators are rapidly going the way of the cheque".
