Under-floor heating 'can make a home greener'
Installing an under-floor heating system beneath a home's wood or vinyl flooring can be one way of making a property more environmentally friendly.
An advice piece from CityAM has suggested that those with enough money to spend on home improvements will find under-floor heating systems can help them to reduce carbon emissions, while saving money on energy bills.
Ed Mead, property expert at London real estate agent Douglas and Gordon, said the system is more efficient than other heating options due to the fact it operates at a low temperature, delivering warmth where it is most likely to be felt.
The expert also advised that fitting under-floor heating can serve to make a home more valuable should the homeowner decide to sell up at a later date, saying: "Buyers absolutely love under-floor heating."
This comes after broadcaster and qualified surveyor James Max commented at the recent A Place in the Sun Live show that home improvements are an ideal way of adding value to a property, provided they are done "tastefully".
