Solid wood floors give 'classic ambiance'

The benefits of solid wood floors have been praised in a new guide to choosing the right kind of flooring for a home.

A recent Lonad article promoted wood flooring, claiming that many homeowners view the material as a way to expressive their creativeness.

It also noted that solid wood floors are more popular than alternatives due to the additional value and desirability which they can add to a home.

"Hardwood flooring, in particular, gives that classic ambiance that only enhances the interior design of your home. Hardwood isn't only elegant but it is user friendly," said the guide.

It went on to promote the maintenance benefits associated with solid wood flooring, stating that the minimum amount of upkeep will be enough to ensure the material lasts a long time.

A recent Montreal Gazette article also promoted the benefits of wood floors, stating that they can often be used to complement a home's wood furnishings.
