Scunthorpe residents benefit from home improvements

A social landlord has spent £100 million on overhauling council houses in its area.

North Lincolnshire Homes (NLH) splashed the cash on home improvements, which included new kitchens and bathrooms, to benefit residents in Scunthorpe, the Scunthorpe Telegraph reports.

The scheme has seen heating systems be replaced, as well as windows and doors fitted and insulation improved.

Neil Webster, head of investment at NLH, said despite spending the large amount of money, it is about a lot more than that and the organisation can take pride in what it has achieved.

He added: "This money has been put in directly to improving thousands of properties, which will enhance the lives of thousands of our tenants."

This news comes after JW Elphinstone, a columnist for the Associated Press, noted earlier this month that there could be plenty of advantages for your house in the future by carrying out home improvements now.
