Restored wood flooring features in historic home
A historic US home's restored wood flooring has been noted in an article on the property.
Writing for the Daily Sentinel, columnist Laura Pitts reported on the story of the Spivey house on Scott Street, Scottsboro.
She noted that the home was entwined with local history and explored some of the changes made to it over the last 86 years.
Ms Pitts spoke to former owners Lucille and Jerry Adams, who were originally from the Mississippi delta and bought the home in 1992.
They revealed the range of renovations which were undertaken at the house, including restoring the property's original wood floors.
"The Adams painted the home cream," noted Ms Pitts. "Then some of the house's hardwood floors were restored and custom shutters were added to the outside windows."
In a recent Monterey Herald article, it was claimed that wood floors can add to an indoor-outdoor feel when used in a home.
