Prefinished wood flooring 'has a number of advantages'
Wood flooring that is prefinished can have a number of advantages over its contemporary counterparts, it has been claimed.
Writing for the Kingston Whig Standard, flooring expert Michel Collin responded to the query of one reader who wanted to know the benefits of using prefinished wood floors.
Mr Collin claimed that because prefinished wood floors will be stained at the factory, a lot of fuss is eliminated and homeowners will not need to deal with sanding dust or toxic fumes.
Similarly, he claimed that since the conditions in the production facility are carefully controlled, there will be no need to worry about contaminates such as dust and sand affecting the finish.
"Manufacturers can also apply more coats of finish giving you added protection," he said. "It produces a smooth, uniform finish with unparalleled abrasion resistance and beauty."
This comes after a recent MSNBC article praised the wood flooring of a Portland property.
