'Plan ahead' for wood flooring choices
Homeowners have been advised to apply some forethought when it becomes time to decide what type of wood flooring to use in a renovation.
Writing for the Independent, columnist Caroline Kamp said that the prime consideration when choosing wood floors should be the purpose of the room they will be installed in.
She also praised the toughness of wood floors and offered homeowners advice on what furnishings can be used to complement the material.
"Wood floors are hard-wearing, but you'll need to buy rugs to stop the room feeling bare," Ms Kamp said.
She also claimed that it is important for DIYers to factor in the costs associated with wood floors before commencing work on a home and suggested that purchasing, sourcing and installation prices all be considered beforehand.
This comes after a recent CTV News article promoted the use of wood flooring as an easy way to renovate a home to gain a "classic look".
