New condos to feature laminate flooring
Laminate flooring is set to feature in a new range of condominiums being built in Canada.
The Vancouver Sun reports that the Kensington Park project will create 65 residences when it is complete and contains some cutting-edge features.
Richard Burleigh, co-organiser of the scheme, claimed that "a ton of work" has been done to decrease the amount of noise travelling between the units and promoted the role laminate flooring had to play in this feature.
"What they've done here is put down the joists, put down … sheets of plywood, a half-inch-thick sheet of foam, foamcrete, a sound barrier, and then laminate flooring," he said.
Paul DaDalt, vice-president of development company Quadra Homes, claimed that noise levels are a common complaint from those moving into new condos and explained that his organisation did not want this to be a concern.
Earlier in the month, a Press Democrat guide hailed the durability of laminate flooring, noting that it is unlikely to scratch.
