New bedroom 'a popular choice for loft converters'

Homeowners who want to create some extra space in their home should consider a loft conversion, with a new bedroom the most popular choice for householders.

This is according to March Loppas of building firm Herts & Essex Lofts, who stated that property owners have more control over their home improvements if they decide to convert their loft conversion.

The builder told About My Area that this is because the homeowner can design the space themselves rather than being restricted by existing walls.

He said: "A loft conversion is the jewel in the crown of home improvements, with a new bedroom being the most precious of those jewels."

Mr Loppas added that a new bedroom in a loft can instantly become the most impressive room in a house.

However, Abbe Will, a research assistant at the Joint Center for Housing Studies, recently told the Sun News that many US householders are carrying out smaller improvement projects than previously due to a lack of funds.
