Metals 'a hot trend in interior design'

Householders who want to get their property right on trend have been told to consider metal furniture.

According to Emma Love, writing for the Daily Mail, this is because gold and silver are both "big" in interiors at the moment.

The writer recommended high street stores Next, Marks and Spencer and John Lewis as good places to start when hunting for metal pieces, as well as home accessories and furniture manufacturers Graham and Green.

"Metal furniture is never off our best-sellers' list," said Jamie Green, creative director of Graham and Green.

"We've updated white metal pieces for contemporary interiors so that the soft silver-embossed finish works well in most rooms."

Last month, Susie Steiner of the Guardian wrote that industrial kitchens are becoming more popular, which could lead to an increase in sales of metal accessories and furniture.

She advised using white metro tiles to help to achieve this look, as they are a must-buy for anyone looking to create this type of kitchen.
