Laminate flooring can be 'indistinguishable from real wood'
Laminate flooring has improved to the point that certain brands are highly similar to real timber.
This is according to Washington Herald columnist Sarah Jackson, who promoted the material as a great option for those who desire real timber surfaces but are constrained by their budget.
She explained the range of techniques that have been developed in order to make laminate floors so realistic.
"Today, many laminates are nearly indistinguishable from real wood, thanks to imitation bevelled board edges, texturing and heavy-duty construction," said Ms Jackson.
The columnist also noted that laminate floors are ideal for those seeking to install a durable material in a high-traffic area and observed the high scratch-resistance of the surface.
Ms Jackson's comments come after Build It editor Anna-Marie DeSouza predicted home improvements to be increasingly popular in the lead-up to spring this year.
